The length of your holiday will determine how much you pack, however, we recommend packing light not only for parents, but for kids as well. Ground transportation is never simple in Italy, and chances are, kids however young will need to be able to manage being responsible for at least one bag, if not all of their bags.
We suggest that families pack no more than one carry-on or similar size suitcase, with very sturdy handles and wheels due to cobblestone streets and such, and one backpack per person, or if possible less. Definitely not one thing more… The payoff of minimizing your stress carting excess luggage around is well worth the sacrifice of not bringing certain items. Of course we also recommend bringing your child’s favorite blanket or toy and while we encourage a technology break during vacations, iPads are a great because there are so many options from movies to books on a single device. During Arte al Sole, we will be out and about in each location whether urban, country or beach. Please have your child wear sturdy shoes for walking (no flip flops) and comfortable active clothes. We will provide each child one camp shirt on the first day of camp and ask that your child wear their shirt each day.
