Painted Italian Versal Letter on Canvas
Most everywhere you look in the city of Florence you are greeted by beautiful reminders of its Medieval and Renaissance history—in its manuscripts, textiles, art, and architecture. In this workshop kids will look at examples of designs from Florence’s creative past, and take inspiration from these to paint a one-of-a-kind decorated Italian versal letter on canvas.
For kids ages 6-14. All materials included. 60 euro/child.

Renaissance-Inspired Illustrated Botanical Book
Italian Renaissance scholars carried on a beautiful and informative tradition that began in Medieval times: making illustrated manuscripts called “herbariums”. Herbariums contain drawn, painted, and dried flowers, plants, or herbs. The images are accompanied by the artists’ hand-written observations. Many Renaissance herbariums are considered masterpieces of art and science.
In this workshop, kids will look at examples of historical herbariums and watch the instructor demonstrate simple drawing and lettering techniques. There will also be time for participants to be inspired by live plants, insects, and flowers in the beautiful garden.
For kids ages 6-14. All materials included. 60 euro/child.
