This summer, families got to enjoy the best of Italy – with parents touring the Umbrian hill towns, long lunches or a nap by the pool. Their kids got to do some art, learn about the Etruscans, the countryside, and how to look at things in new ways. Before half of the kids wandered through the olive groves and down to polish their soccer skills with our Italian soccer coach. Coming back to our homestead, families hung out at each other’s pools — where the kids played some more, arranged BBQs, or sleepovers…and maybe took a family cooking class, or went out around Lake Trasimeno for dinner, or even combed the hills with Luna the dog, in search of dark truffles. Together, we had a Family Day Out at the Etruscan Museum, visiting ancient tombs as well, before heading off on our separate ways to meet up at the local street festival, replete with Italian polka music and terrific food. All in all, a grande time was had by all!
