Arte al Sole is pleased to announce some new interactive tours that will bring more of the history of Venice to life for you and your children. While we always modify our sessions to the ages of your kids, these tours will allow teens & tweens to take their noses out of phones and see Venice in a whole new way.
THE TIEPOLO AFFAIR & THE BURNING OF THE RIALTO BRIDGE
It’s 1310, and a group of aristocrats plot to overthrow the Doge – the Governor of the old Venetian Republic. In this role playing game for the whole family, participants will discover some of the court intrigue and repercussions of Venice’s turbulent past – taking on different roles to win the final prize. Participants will be divided into teams and will have to find clues and items amidst the iconic places connected to the plot to overthrow the Doge – But will you succeed?
Activity followed with a typically Venetian aperitivo – sampling delicious treats while hearing what happened to the families – including a Princess – involved in the takeover.

BOATING ADVENTURE ACROSS THE VENETIAN LAGOON Join our Venetian sailor to discover some of the unknown and distant islands of Venice! We leave the chaos of the city behind and enjoy a day out, like real Venetians. We’ll take off in search of the flora & fauna on the mysterious islands – the early Venetian settlements – Sant’Erasmo, Burano, Torcello, the secret "Cat’s island" and others! Along the way, families will hear stories, play typical games and kids will craft their own artworks of Venice inspired from the cityscapes and sea views from a truly unique perspective! The pervasive Aqua!Note: In summer we may be able to stop off for a swim — so be sure to bring your swimsuits and towels!

GONDOLA MAKING – AN ANCIENT CRAFT STILL MADE TODAY
Open only to a select few visitors each week, we’ll take your family for a guided tour of a gondola making site, to see Venetian craftsmen at work in a centuries-old tradition of woodwork. Afterward, Arte al Sole kids will get to sketch their very own dream gondola with our art docents.
